Opening night at Theater for the New City’s Community Space Theater (155 First Avenue) is scheduled for March 9. Performances will continue through March 23.
Directed by G.R. Johnson, the cast will feature Tim Burke, Andrew Glaszek, Halliday, John Kevin Jones, Rory Max Kaplan, Tim McGarrigal, David Errigo, Jr., Jeffrey Vause and Steven Wenslawski.
"What happens when two beautiful teenage boys meet under the hot summer sun?" press notes ask. "Nothing good. In Nothing But Trash, the year is 1958 and Tab (McGarrigal) and Troy (Kaplan) are on the fast track to madness when their innocent love is destroyed by lies. Wrongly accused of a heinous crime, the boys must escape the horror of juvenile hall, or risk losing their sanity. And their lives!"
Regular-priced $20 tickets are now on sale at SmartTix.com or by calling (212) 868-4444. Subject to availability, Pay-What-You-Can tickets will be available at the box office only for Tuesday evening performances.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
