Tony Award Winner Lea Salonga Launches American Songbook Series Jan. 30

Tony Award-winning Miss Saigon star Lea Salonga kicks off the 2013 American Songbook Series Jan. 30 at the Allen Room.

Victor Lirio, who also directed Salonga's Suites By Sondheim concert at Alice Tully Hall, stages the 75-minute concert that begins at 8:30 PM. Salonga is joined by musical director Larry Yurman on piano, Jack Cavari on guitar, John Miller on bass and Dave Ratajczak on drums.

Salonga most recently appeared in the Broadway-aimed musical Allegiance. She earned a Tony Award for originating the role of Kim in Miss Saigon. Her stage appearances also include Les Misérables, Flower Drum Song, Cinderella and God of Carnage. She also voiced the Disney princesses Jasmine and Mulan.
