Tony Winner Daisy Eagan Will Go It Solo in September
24 Aug 2012
Tony Award winner Daisy Eagan will perform in concert Sept. 17 at Joe's Pub, the intimate cabaret located within the Public Theater.
Show time for Daisy Eagan: Let It Go is 9:30 PM.
Eagan's new show is "about surviving triumph and tragedy, and finally finding her place in an industry (and a world) that's both richly rewarding and brutally punishing. It is a show filled with music, humor, heart, and her bitingly skewed way of looking at things," according to press notes.
Eagan is the youngest woman in history to win the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical. She accepted the award in 1991 for her performance in The Secret Garden. The actress has also appeared on Broadway in Les Miserables and James Joyce's The Dead.
Joe's Pub is located within the Public Theater at 425 Lafayette Street. For tickets, priced $20, visit www.joespub.com.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
