Steve Kazee, who took home the Tony Award for his performance in the Tony-winning musical Once, has been cast in the ABC pilot "Warriors," according to TVLine.com.
Kazee will play the husband of Morena Baccarin's character in the military-themed medical pilot from Christopher Keyser ("Party of Five") that centers on doctors and nurses at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center who treat returning soldiers.
Also in the cast are Tony winner Courtney B. Vance (Lucky Guy) and Eloise Mumford (Speed-the-Plow).
Keyser penned the script of the one-hour "Warriors" and will serve as an executive producer alongside David Hoberman, Todd Lieberman and Laurie Zaks.
Kazee has also been seen on Broadway in Spamalot, Seascape, 110 in the Shade and To Be Or Not to Be.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
