All five performances will be recorded live to air on L.A. Theatre Works' syndicated radio theatre series, which broadcasts weekly on public radio stations nationwide and locally, in Southern California, on KPFK 90.7 FM.
The play by Tracy Letts (The Realistic Joneses, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?) recounts the story of "the Weston family [who] gathers during a brutal summer heat wave to provide comfort to their bitter, substance-abusing matriarch and find their missing father." The play opened on Broadway in December 2007, after originating at the Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago, and ran for 648 performances.
The production won five Tony Awards in 2008, including Best Play for Letts, Best Direction of a Play for Anna Shapiro, Best Leading Actress for Dunagan and Best Featured Actress in a Play for Reed.
Tickets range from $15-$60 and exact performance times can be found at latw.org or by calling (310) 827-0889. L.A. Theatre Works' radio theatre series can also be streamed on demand at that address.
