The Museum of the City of New York will host Spotlight on Broadway: New York's Theater Design and Architecture Dec. 16 at 6:30 PM.

Co-presented by the City of New York's Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment, the evening will explore the design and architectural history of the theatre district. The event is presented in conjunction with Norman Bel Geddes: I Have Seen the Future.

The evening will feature a tour of Norman Bel Geddes: I Have Seen the Future, guided by Donald Albrecht, MCNY's curator of architecture and design. Following the tour, a panel of guests will be introduced by Katherine Oliver of the Mayor's office of media and entertainment, including Tony-winning director Diane Paulus (Pippin, Hair), Tony-winning lighting designer Natasha Katz (Once, The Coast of Utopia) and Tony-winning scenic designer Scott Pask (The Book of Mormon, The Coast of Utopia).

The panel members will discuss how their work intersects with Broadway's design, architecture and cultural legacy. Video clips will also introduce viewers to the history of several of Broadway's theatres.
