Stage and screen star Donna Murphy, best known for her Tony-winning performances in Passion and The King and I, will be seen in the upcoming second season of ABC's "Resurrection."
Murphy, according to the Hollywood Reporter, has landed a major recurring role as a mysterious government agent in the acclaimed drama. Her character "will be in charge of monitoring Agent Bellamy (Omar Epps) and the activities in Arcadia."
It was previously announced that Michelle Fairley has also joined the "Resurrection" cast.
In addition to her numerous stage credits, Murphy has been seen on screen in "Tangled," "Center Stage," "Spider-Man 2," "Royal Pains," "The Good Wife," "The Mentalist," "Made in Jersey," "Trust Me" and "Hack."
The new season of "Resurrection" kicks off Sept. 28 at 9 PM ET.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
