A biography of award-winning actress Vanessa Redgrave will be published May 15.

"Vanessa: The Life Of Vanessa Redgrave," by Dan Callahan, will detail the life and career of Redgrave, who has appeared in more than 80 films, made 35 appearances on the West End and Broadway and been honored with both the Tony and Olivier Awards.

"From her fame-making 1961 turn as Rosalind in the Royal Shakespeare Company's As You Like It to her roles in movies as varied as 'Atonement' and 'Mission Impossible,' Redgrave's theatrical and cinematic accomplishments have been nothing less than extraordinary," press notes state. "'Vanessa' takes readers on a tour through Redgrave's career as well as her personal life, including her headline-making political involvement and her relationship with her late daughter — the actress Natasha Richardson — and the rest of her famous family."

Redgrave, a Tony Award winner for Long Day's Journey Into Night, made her Broadway debut in the 1976 revival of Henrik Ibsen's The Lady from the Sea, and her next Broadway role came in 1989's Orpheus Descending. Her stage credits also include The Year of Magical Thinking, Driving Miss Daisy and The Revisionist.

The Academy Award winner's screen credits include "Morgan: A Suitable Case for Treatment," "Isadora," "Mary, Queen of Scots," "Julia" "The Bostonians" and "Howard's End." The Olivier Award winner has performed in The Aspern Papers, A Touch of the Poet and John Gabriel Borkman.
