Tony Award winner Audra McDonald, who earned a Tony Award nomination for inhabiting Billie Holiday in Lanie Robertson's Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill, appeared on "The Colbert Report" April 29 and offered a look at her performance as the late blues singer.
Directed by Tony Award nominee Lonny Price (110 in the Shade, Sweeney Todd, Company), Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill began previews March 25 and opened to strong critical notices April 13.

The Broadway production was originally scheduled as a limited, 10-week engagement. Performances will now continue through Aug. 10 at Circle in the Square.
