Well-Strung is described as "a 'mash-up of string quartet and boy band' that feature classical musicians who sing, putting their own spin on the music of Mozart, Vivaldi, Pink, Lady Gaga, Adele and more."
The quartet is made up of Edmund Bagnell (first national tour of Sweeney Todd, directed by John Doyle) on first violin, Christopher Marchant (Sweeney Todd national tour) on second violin, Daniel Shevlin (Off-Broadway's The Sandbox) on cello and Trevor Wadleigh (The String Collective of New York) on viola.
Music arrangements are by David Levinson (Les Enfants de Paris at NYMF 2011) with additional arrangements by Shevlin. The show was conceived by Christopher Marchant and Mark Cortale, and written by Drake and Cortale with additional material by Jeffery Roberson.
Coinciding with the return engagement will be the release of the group's debut CD on Twist Records. Produced by Matt Farber and Cortale, the CD will be available beginning Feb. 28.
Well-Strung played a sold-out debut engagement at Joe's Pub in May 2012, followed by a summer at the Art House in Provincetown, MA, before returning to New York for a three-week engagement this past fall.
