Williamstown Gala to Feature David Hyde Pierce, Steven Pasquale, Kelli O'Hara and More
07 Nov 2012
David Hyde Pierce, Steven Pasquale and Kelli O'Hara will be among the artists to perform at the Williamstown Theatre Festival's Nov. 18 benefit, honoring late writer-director Abe Burrows, at the Edison Ballroom.
Pasquale ("Rescue Me") and four-time Tony nominee O'Hara (South Pacific, The Light in the Piazza, Nice Work If You Can Get It) co-starred in the Williamstown world premiere of Far From Heaven last summer. The musical will premiere Off-Broadway at Playwrights Horizons in spring 2013.
Tony winner Pierce (Curtains) directed a revival of The Importance of Being Earnest at Williamstown last summer. The three will be joined by Greg Naughton, Tony nominee Malcolm Gets (Ten Cents a Dance, The Story of My Life) and more for the evening's performances.
The 6:30 PM gala will celebrate the work of Burrows, who penned the books for Guys and Dolls, Silk Stockings, Can-Can and the Pulitzer Prize-winning How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. He also directed Cactus Flower, What Makes Sammy Run?, Two On the Aisle and the original productions of Can-Can and How to Succeed.
