U.K. "X Factor" Star Lands Title Role in Tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

Joe McElderry, who won the sixth series of the U.K.'s "The X Factor" and subsequently won two more reality TV shows (the second series of ITV's "Popstar to Operastar" and Channel 4's "The Jump") is to star in the title role of the U.K.'s longest-running touring musical, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. He will join the cast in 2016, with theatres and dates to be announced.

Oscar Winner Will Star in A Christmas Carol at Noel Coward Theatre

Jim Broadbent, the Oscar-winning actor (for "Iris") who is also well known for his appearances in the "Harry Potter," "The Iron Lady," Woody Allen's "Bullets over Broadway" and Mike Leigh's "Life is Sweet," "Topsy-Turvy," "Vera Drake" and "Another Year," is to return to the West End stage to star as Scrooge in A Christmas Carol this Christmas, beginning performances Nov. 30 prior to an official opening Dec. 9, for a run through Jan. 30, 2016, at the Noel Coward Theatre.



Future Conditional, Matthew Warchus's Inaugural Production at the Helm of London's Old Vic, Begins Tonight
01 Sep 2015 -- The world premiere of Tamsin Oglesby's Future Conditional -- which inaugurates Matthew Warchus's first season at the helm of London's Old Vic (replacing Kevin Spacey as artistic director) -- begins performances Sept. 1 prior to an official opening Sept. 10. The cast is led by screen and stage comedy star Rob Brydon, supported by 23 young performers.

Carol Tamber Best of Edinburgh Award Goes to Key Change, New Play Devised by Women Prisoners
31 Aug 2015 -- The annual Carol Tambor Best of Edinburgh Award, presented by the Carol Tambor Theatrical Foundation to fund a New York run of the winner, has been presented to Key Change, a play devised by female prisoners at Low Newton prison, that was seen at Edinburgh's Summerhall.
