Wally Harper, the respected pianist, arranger, composer and musical director who had a long association with the singer Barbara Cook, died the morning of Oct. 8, 2004, according to friends and colleagues. Mr. Harper, who was 62, had entered a Manhattan hospital in recent days. The cause of death was apparently cardiac arrest. He had been in poor health for several years.
