Pauline Flanagan, the Irish character actress who acted in hundreds of plays on either side of the Atlantic over a five-decade career, died June 28, 2003, according to friend and colleague Paul Lucas. She was just shy of her 78th birthday. Ms. Flanagan was born June 29, 1925, in County Sligo, Ireland, and her Irish heritage served her well in the theatre.
