“The People v. Leo Frank,” a 90-minute documentary airing on PBS Nov. 2, tells the true-life crime tale that inspired the Tony Award-winning 1998 musical Parade, which was recently revised and revived in London and Los Angeles.

The documentary is screened in the New York City area at 10 PM on Channel 13. Check local listings.

In 1913, Leo Frank, a Jewish northerner working as a superintendant in a Marietta, GA, factory, was accused of murdering 13-year-old Mary Phagan. He was tried, his conviction was commuted to life in prison rather than death, but an angry mob lynched him. Dramatic re-enactments with actors Seth Gilliam and Will Janowitz spice the documentary.
