PIX11’s "Curtain Up!" Broadway week series goes backstage with the stars of the Tony Award-winning hit musical Jersey Boys. Here, PIX 11 host Laurie Dhue visits the August Wilson Theatre for a tour of the venue and chats with the show’s stars, including Jarrod Spector, who plays Frankie Valli.
Dhue also tries on Jersey Boys costumes and checks out the projection design. In the Broadway week “Curtain Up!” series, PIX11 visits Broadway’s best for a glimpse of what goes on behind-the-scenes before the curtain rises at 8 PM. “Curtain Up!” recently visited the Palace to check out the action at Priscilla Queen of the Desert. Broadway in Bryant Park, the annual free concert series now in its 11th year, features performances from the stars of Broadway and Off-Broadway Thursdays throughout the summer from 12:30 PM-1:30 PM. The fifth concert of the series was held Aug. 4 with performances from Jersey Boys, The Lion King, Rent, Wicked and Death Takes a Holiday.
Sponsored by Bank of America and Clean Air NY, the event is hosted by 106.7 Lite fm’s on-air personalities and continues through Aug. 11.
The Aug. 4 performance featured “Circle of Life” from The Lion King; “Shimmy Like They Do In Paree” from Death Takes a Holiday; “Who Loves You” from Jersey Boys; “Take Me or Leave Me” from Rent; and “Popular” and “As Long as Your Mine” from Wicked, among others.

The Tony, Grammy and Olivier Award-winning hit musical Jersey Boys, the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, is celebrating its second year in Australia, where it plays Sydney’s Theatre Royal.
In honor of hitting the two-year mark, the cast of Jersey Boys visited “Sunrise,” Australia’s top morning show, to perform a medley of songs from the musical, including “Sherry,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry” and “Walk Like a Man.”

The fifth anniversary of Jersey Boys was commemorated in a very special way Nov. 7, when a section of West 52nd Street near the Tony-winning Four Seasons musical’s Broadway home at the August Wilson Theatre was renamed Jersey Boys Walk. Jersey Boys recently became the longest-running show in the theatre’s history.
Original Four Seasons members Frankie Valli and Bob Gaudio were on hand for the ceremony, as were the show’s authors, Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, and members of the cast.
