Winner of 35 major awards including the Grammy Award and three Tony Awards, Wicked is the untold story of the witches of Oz. According to press notes, “Long before Dorothy drops in, two other girls meet in the land of Oz. One, born with emerald-green skin, is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. Wicked tells the story of their remarkable odyssey, how these two unlikely friends grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good.”

Stephen Schwartz, composer of the Tony-nominated musical Wicked, talks about the origin of “For Good” from the hit musical and follows with a solo performance.
The song, which has recently been seen on Fox’s “Glee” as well as in the second part of Oprah’s surprise farewell, was created with the help of Schwartz’s daughter, Jessica. Jessica provided the inspiration for what Schwartz calls the “key” element to Wicked.
Jessica told her father about her relationship with one of her best friends. She talked about everything she would say to her best friend given one last chance to talk to her. This conversation provided the songwriter with a model for Glinda and Elphaba’s duet at the end of the musical.

Schwartz and Stickler will cook with ingredients from Whole Foods Markets. In the promo, they ponder what foods their characters eat, what foods others might think their characters eat, and how healthy they would be.
