Peggy Sawyer, an ambitious tap dancer from Allentown, PA, gets a job in the chorus of a new Broadway musical and winds up substituting for the star on opening night. As the director urges her, "You're going out there a chorus girl — but you've got to come back A STAR!” The score includes “Shuffle Off to Buffalo,” “We're in the Money,” “Lullaby of Broadway” and the title song.
The quintessential backstage musical comedy classic, 42nd Street is the song and dance fable of Broadway with an American Dream story and includes some of the greatest songs ever written. This sparkling new production is presented by the team who staged the 2001 Tony Award-winning Best Musical Revival.
