SYNOPSIS: Several of childhood's most familiar fairy tales ("Little Red Riding Hood," "Cinderella," "Rapunzel," "Jack and the Beanstalk," etc.) are shown to be part of a single story, as woven together by librettist James Lapine and composer Stephen Sondheim. The result is a psychological parable about parents, children and growing up.
