Jon knows there’s only one choice at Plataforma: the endless skewers of grilled meats.
In September, New York City celebrates Brazil Day on Sixth Avenue, but it’s Brazil Day everyday at Plataforma, the high-end Portuguese steak house renowned for prime cuts of beef, pork, lamb and chicken.
It’s hard to resist the buffet teeming with 40 rotating exotic salads, carpaccio, sushi and tabouli—and four traditional casseroles, such as codfish risotto and fish stew in coconut milk.
Then, until you say “Stop!,” the parade of skewers begins, fresh from the rodizio (grill). Sides include rice and beans, cheese bread and plantains. If you make dessert, coconut flan in prune sauce and passion fruit mousse are musts.
Plataforma has an award-winning wine cellar with 1,500 vintages and a full bar. Try the native zesty cocktail, the caipirinha.
