Jennifer Cody (Ensemble of Shrek The Musical) chooses: Bangkok House
Bangkok House turns out authentic dishes at unbelievably reasonable prices. Popular starters are the Thai crepe, with ground peanuts, shallots and white turnip; scrumptious, freshly-prepared duck or shrimp rolls; grilled shrimp; and steamed dumplings. Among the traditional dishes, general manager Kalaya Prasertsom recommends such signature entrées as seafood pad Thai, Bangkok House tiger prawns, red snapper chili and the just-added seafood linguini with green curry. A perfect accompaniment is pineapple or crab fried rice.
Chef Perapol will have you doing so with his mouthwatering Thai tea crème brûlée, flaming fried ice cream or mango slices with sweet sticky rice. Full bar with specialty cocktails, such as the “saketini” (sake, triple sec, curaçao, amaretto and sparkling wine) or spirited mango and lychee mojitos, Thai beers and extensive wine list.
