SYNOPSIS: Ballet Theatre, the forerunner to the American Ballet Theatre dance company, performs an evening of four dances, including Interplay, choreographed by Jerome Robbins; Pillar of Fire, choreographed by Anthony Tudor; "Pas de Deux" from Swan Lake, choreographed by Anton Dolin; and Fancy Free, choreographed by Jerome Robbins.

In Interplay, a group of dancers perform dance games incorporating classical and jazz elements.

Fancy Free, a ballet that depicts the adventures of sailors on leave with girls in a bar, was the inspiration for the musical On the Town.
