RKO Roxy Theatre


The RKO Roxy Theatre opened on Sixth Avenue at 49th Street in 1932. As the Center Theatre, this venue housed the 1939 production of George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart’s The American Way and a series of successful ice shows, often starring or produced by Sonja Henie. The RKO Roxy Theatre, as an NBC television studio, was demolished in 1955.
