Willis Theatre

Venue Placeholder
The Willis Theatre opened in 1923 at the corner of 138th Street and Willis Avenue in the Bronx. The venue had its brief brush with Broadway in 1936 when it presented a managers' tryout for the WPA production of "A Woman of Destiny." In 1939 the theatre was converted into a movie house, and it stands today as a supermarket.
