Matilda Tony Nominees Tim Minchin, Bertie Carvel, Gabriel Ebert and Lauren Ward Defy W.C. Fields

W.C. Fields famously said "Never work with animals or children." The child-filled Matilda The Musical defied his warning, and earned its cast and creative team twelve 2013 Tony nominations, including ones for songwriter Tim Minchin, and actors Bertie Carvel, Gabriel Ebert and Lauren Ward. The nominees sat down with Playbill to talk about what it's like working with all those kids, and the past experiences that influenced their work in the musical. We also speak to the four Tony-honored girls who share the title role about what it's like to star in a Broadway show. To see a list of all this year's Tony nominees, click here.
