News 13P, Playwright-Driven Company, Announces New Season 13P, the company made up of 13 playwrights, has announced two new plays for its 2006 season.

From May 13 to June 4, the troupe will present At Said by Gary Winter, followed by a June 3-July 2 run of Mark Smith by Kate E. Ryan. The first will play at Performance Space 122; the second at Walkerspace, the Tribeca theatre usually inhabited by Soho Rep. Tim Farrell will direct Lia Aprile, Gilbert Cruz, Marisa Echeverria and Anita Hollander in At Said, which is described as "the story of Sybil, an immigrant mother who is typing her memories of a childhood spent under an oppressive regime. Her apartment building seems to lie at the end of the world, shared by her shut-in daughter, her drug-dealing boyfriend, and the super who has Jesus in his back pocket."

Ken Rus Schmoll will pilot Mark Smith, a "docu-play" that tells "the story of an 80’s rock star who has fallen into obscurity. We go behind the music to the people who knew him—his high school music teacher, his mother, his hair stylist." Casting is to be announced later.

Past 13P premieres include The Internationalist by Anne Washburn, The Penetration Play by Winter Miller, and Aphrodisiac by Rob Handel. The members of 13P are Sheila Callaghan, Erin Courtney, Madeleine George, Rob Handel, Ann Marie Healy, Julia Jarcho, Young Jean Lee, Winter Miller, Sarah Ruhl, Kate E. Ryan, Lucy Thurber, Anne Washburn, and Gary Winter.
