After the Rain, Sergi Belbel's 1998 Moliere-winning dark comedy, opens its North American premiere June 2 at Off-Broadway's Theatre Four. Performances began May 19. Red Hudson Company co-artistic director Daniel Kadin directs.
A savage look at office life, After the Rain is filled with politics and sexual games, cat-fights, promotions, illicit acts performed on the roof and helicopter crashes. Rain won France's 1998 Moliere for Best Comedy, the same award Art garnered in 1995.
Rain stars Jennifer Chambers, Diana Henry, Kristen Lee Kelly (Rent), Mari-Ester Magaloni, Joel Rooks, Greg Sims, James Tupper and Laura Wickens.
Designing the show are Mylene Santos (sets), Markas Henry (costumes), Robert Williams (Iights) and John La Barbera (sound). Jason Cohen is production stage manager.
Tickets are $35 and available by calling Telecharge at (212) 239-6200. Theatre Four is located at 424 West 55th Street. -- By Christine Ehren
