Dawn Bradfield has been nominated for a Tony for her work in The Lonesome West. Bradfield, who plays the pugnacious but warm-hearted Girleen in The Lonesome West, has already won an award for that role: the 1997 Irish Times Theatre Award for Best Supporting Actress. Other roles for this 1992 Gaiety School of Acting graduate have included Cecily in The Importance of Being Earnest and Amy in the West End staging of Elton John's Glasses.
She's done several shows at Dublin's Abbey Theatre, including The Duty Master, The Broken Jug and Brian Friel's Translations. She's also had stints at the Gaiety and Rough Magic theatres, as well as London's Hampstead and Bush theatres.
