Jeanine Tesori has been nominated for a Tony for her music in the Lincoln Center revival of Twelfth Night.

The songs (sung by David Patrick Kelly) and incidental music were composed by Tesori, who continues to receive acclaim and numerous regional productions for the Off-Broadway musical she wrote with Brian Crawley, Violet. That piece took the 1997 New York Drama Critics Award for Best Musical, the Lucille Lortel Award for Best Off-Broadway Musical, the Richard Rodgers Production Award and a Best Score Obie Award. A 1996 Gilman & Gonzalez-Falla Award winner, Tesori's only previous Broadway experience was conducting at The Secret Garden and The Who's Tommy. Her next piece is Ain and David Gordon's First Picture Show, commissioned by the Mark Taper Forum and premiered this May at San Francisco's American Conservatory Theater.
