If you’re a theatre lover who loves to shop, Thursday, April 24 is a great day to hit the stores.
In fact, if you happen to be at Macy’s on April 24, don’t feel overdressed when you bypass a few patrons clad in togas. Or, when bargain hunting at the Manhattan Loehmann’s on the same day, don’t do a double take when you see fashion mogul Diana Vreeland sitting there--she’s still dead.
Jessica Boevers and Jim Stanek, stars from Broadway’s A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, will be making their Macy’s debut at 6 PM on Petites on 4. The duo will perform a number from the show, as part of a Petites fahsion show. Shoppers will have an opportunity to win May 13 tickets to . . .Forum, a petite outfit, or a deluxe fragrance basket.
Also on April 24, Mary Louise Wilson, who portrays the late Vogue editor Diana Vreeland in the off-Broadway hit comedy Full Gallop, will autograph copies of Vreeland’s autobiography, DV, at Manhattan’s Loehmann’s from 12-2 PM. Wilson received an Obie and a Drama Desk Award for her performance in the one-woman show.
Macy’s Herald Square is located on 34th Street and Seventh Avenue, Loehmann’s is on 16th Street and Seventh. Enjoy the shop/shows! --By Blair Glaser
