Eric Bogosian's play Red Angel serves as source material for a short film that will also be part of the annual Festival, which is chock full of stage veterans.
As previously reported, Spring Awakening composer Duncan Sheik scored Masterson's feature film directorial debut "The Cake Eaters." Tony Award winner Elizabeth Ashley (Take Her, She's Mine) is featured in the ensemble cast with Kristin Stewart and fellow stage veterans Aaron Stanford (Where Do We Live?), Bruce Dern (Sweet Bird of Youth), Jayce Bartok (The My House Play), Miriam Shor (Dedication or the Stuff of Dreams), Melissa Leo (The Distance From Here), Andrea Martin (Oklahoma!) and Jesse L. Martin (Rent).
Legendary actor Marlon Brando (A Streetcar Named Desire) is the focus of a special new Turner Classic Movie documentary that features previously unseen footage and friends like Martin Scorsese, Johnny Depp, Al Pacino and more providing insight into the life of the late actor.
The short form will get more notice thanks to Fran's Bed star Stiles (who directs "Raving," starring Zooey Deschanel and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? star Bill Irwin) and Talk Radio playwright Bogosian (whose original play is adapted for "Red Angel" starring Fisher Stevens).
The documentary "Autism: The Musical" provides a look at "five autistic children in Los Angeles as they write and rehearse their own full-length musical, tossing aside all stereotypes in the process."
