PlayBlog 2010 Tony Nominees Advise Aspiring Theatre Folk in Video Series This year’s Tony nominees are offering their advice to young theatre hopefuls, courtesy of the American Theatre Wing’s new series of Web videos, “Springboard NYC: Cues from Tony Nominees 2010.”

The videos, which were taped at the Tony nominees’ luncheon May 5, are being posted daily on the American Theatre Wing’s Website and YouTube channel.

The series, in which a nominee will answer questions “specifically crafted to enlighten, inspire and encourage aspiring theater professionals,” is an offshoot of the Wing’s annual Springboard NYC summer program, in which theatre professionals talk to and mentor college students who are getting ready to start their careers in New York theatre. These videos are designed to give the program a wider reach, beyond the 36 students who get to take part in it every summer.

The American Theatre Wing created and presents the Tony Awards with the Broadway League. For more information and to look at the videos and the Wing’s other educational programs, visit americantheatrewing.org or youtube.com/AmericanTheatreWing, or check them out on Itunes.
