Having won in 2015 for her desing of The King & I, Zuber never tires of the nomination game. “As the years go by it gets more and more surprising to be here because I feel that the Broadway community is becoming more and more excellent in what they do so it becomes more and more of an honor to be recognized in this way,” she says.

Having made her Broadway debut as the costume designer on The Red Shoes, a gig that was also her first professional job in the theatre, there was nowhere to go but up for Zuber. Still, dressing Patti LuPone and Christine Ebersole as Helena Rubinstein and Elizabeth Arden, respectively, in War Paint was a “dream-come-true” project. “I love War Paint, I love the creators involved in it ... I adore our leading ladies ... and of, course my fellow designers,” says Zuber.
