Keen Company will present a second season of audio theater Hear/Now: LIVE! with The Telegram by Mashuq Mushtaq Deen and That Old Perplexity by Deb Margolin. Premiering April 4, Keen's reimagining of the classic radio drama will be available to stream free via any podcast-streaming service.

Randy Danson

Deen's The Telegram stars Moe Angelos, Randy Danson, and Cesar Rosado, and begins streaming April 4 at 7 PM ET. This radio Western tells the story of hardened cowboy Augie as she deals with the Kid, a new tag-along who is unprepared for the absurdities of living in the Wild West.

Streaming April 11 at 7 PM ET, Margolin's That Old Perplexity stars Jordan Boatman, Marcia Jean Kurtz, and Lance Coadie Williams in a drama set in Manhattan after the traumas of 9/11. Two women, Mary and Barbara, connect on a serendipitous morning commute, allowing them to heal from their own private crises.

Both The Telegram and That Old Perplexity were recorded during a previous run at Theatre Row in December, 2021.

"As Keen’s first bridge back to the stage, Deen and Deb worked with foley artist Nick Abeel and composer Salomon Lerner to create a thrilling evening of live theatre which can now be enjoyed by patrons around the globe," says Keen Artistic Director Jonathan Silverstein, who directed the works. "As more theatres branch out beyond their walls, Keen Company is proud to be creating hybrid works of art that are both traditional and brand new!"

The Keen Company presented the first season of Hear/Now: LIVE! during the shutdown. In this season, the Drama Desk and Obie Award-winning theatre company's productions feature the use of traditional radio play tools such as live original music and foley sound effects.
