News 3 Mo' Divas! — with Tony Winner Boston — Begins Performances at Arena Stage July 12 3 Mo' Divas!, which is described as a "musical celebration of class, sass and style," begins its limited engagement at Washington, D.C.'s Arena Stage July 12.

Created, directed and choreographed by Marion J. Caffey, the show is double-cast "due to the extraordinary vocal demands of the production." The six actresses who star in the D.C. production include Tony Award winner Gretha Boston (Show Boat), Andrea Jones-Sojola, N'Kenge, Nina Negri, Jamet Pittman and Vivian Reed.

"It's not just three divas, it's actually six incredible divas for an eight-show week," said Arena Stage artistic director Molly Smith.

3 Mo' Divas will play the Kreeger Theatre through Aug. 13. The creative team also includes Joseph Joubert (musical supervisor/orchestrator/arranger), e'Marcus Harper (musical director/arranger), Dale F. Jordan (set designer), Toni-Leslie James (costume designer) and Richard Winkler (lighting designer).

3 Mo' Divas world premiered in March 2004 at San Diego Repertory Theatre. Featuring an onstage orchestra, the production, according to press notes, "spans eight musical forms and features 400 years of music in a single evening . . . from Bach to Cole Porter, Gershwin to Cab Calloway and Ellington to The Supremes."
