NBC-TV will broadcast the two-hour ceremony live, beginning at 9 PM ET; check local listings. Recent Hairspray star Kathy Brier, who made her Broadway debut in that Tony-winning musical, is among this year's nominees. Brier, nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her work as Marcie Walsh on "One Life to Live," competes in a field that includes Cady McClain ("As the World Turns"), Ilene Kristen ("One Life to Live"), Sharon Case ("The Young and the Restless") and Heather Tom ("The Young and the Restless"). Brier danced into Broadway's Hairspray Aug. 12, 2003, playing Tracy Turnblad, the Baltimore teen who crusades for non-traditional relationships (the chubby girl and the football star) and non-traditional local TV (an integrated dance show). She and co-star Harvey Fierstein departed the show after the May 2 performance. Brier was also seen Off-Broadway in Bat Boy: The Musical and The Prince and the Pauper and has starred in regional productions of Funny Girl, Grease and Cinderella.
