News 50 Shades! The Musical to Play Elektra Theatre 50 Shades! The Musical, the original parody of the hit book series "50 Shades of Grey," will play The Elektra Theatre beginning Nov. 18, prior to an official opening Jan. 9, 2014.

Directed by Al Samuels, 50 Shades! The Musical features a book by Samuels, Amanda Blake Davis, Emily Dorezas, Jody Shelton, Ashley Ward and Dan Wessels, and music and lyrics by Samuels, Davis, Shelton, Ward and Wessels.

"50 Shades! The Musical" is about sex, humor, and bondage," press notes state. "Adapted from one of the most popular books of all time, it features the infamous characters Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, whose intensely erotic relationship comes to laugh-out-loud life in this new parody, with original songs, for the stage."

The production will also include set and costume design by John Dunnett, lighting design by Herrick Goldman and sound design by Matt Kraus. Joy Dewing is the casting director.

Casting will be announced at a later date.
