The 5th China Arts Festival" begins Oct. 25 in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province. A total of 34 shows along with 18 performances will be on stage Oct. 25-Nov. 5.
Co-sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and the People's Government of Sichuan Province, the festival covers many genres of performing arts and other art forms. It will be a wonderful opportunity for the audience to enjoy the works of theatre companies both from home and abroad.
The highlighted shows are as follows:
Western opera:"Open Country," "Sun Wu," "Goddess from Mount Wu Shan," ; Ballet:"Border City";Spoken Drama:"Linden on a Horseback" ; Peking Opera Tears of Xiangjiang River, Rise and Fall of TongRenTang Drugstore; Chuanju Opera:Stagnant Water Rippling; Cai Hua Opera:Mu Xianzhang.
