Chaos greeted celebrities pulling up the Royale Theatre for the opening night of Triumph of Love. The usual red carpet was dispensed with and crowds overran the blue police barriers on West 45th Street.

Nevertheless, among those who managed to penetrate the crowd were Parker Posey (The House of Yes), gossip columnist Cindy Adams, Tony winner Donna Murphy, choreographer Rob Marshall, actress Blair Brown, actor Roger Rees and caricaturist Al Hirschfeld.

Ralph Macchio told Playbill On-Line that, following his national tour of How to Succeed last year, he's currently working on the animated feature The Secret of Nimh 2.

Liliane Montevecchi enthused about her one-woman concert, and said she's looking forward to her return to the musical stage at Houston's Theater Under the Stars (TUTS) Feb. 1998 revival of Gigi.
