News 65th Annual Tony Awards Broadcast Wins Directors Guild Award Glenn Weiss and the directing team of The 65th Annual Tony Awards were honored with a Directors Guild Award in the category of Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Musical Variety. The awards ceremony was held Jan. 28 in Los Angeles.

Weiss previously won awards for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Musical Variety in 2010  for the 64th Annual Tony Awards and in 2007 for The 61st Annual Tony Awards.

In addition to Weiss, nominated members of his directing team include associate directors Ken Diego, Robin Abrams, Debra Gelman and Ricky Kirshner as well as stage managers Garry Hood, Peter Epstein, Andrew Feigin, Lynn Finkel, Doug Fogel, Jeffrey Gitter, Phyllis Diglio-Kent, Arthur Lewis, Jeff Markowitz, Joey Meade, Tony Mirante, Cyndi Owgang, Jeff Pearl, Elise Reaves, Lauren Class Schneider and Annette Powlis. 

"I am thrilled with this honor, and I share this win not just with my DGA team, but also with all the wonderfully talented and creative people in the Broadway community,” said Weiss in a statement. “Directing the Tony Awards is a passion project for me, and to be recognized in this way by my peers in the TV business is very gratifying."
