The 69th Annual Tony Awards broadcast and writer Dave Boone are nominated for a Writers Guild Award in the Comedy/Variety – Music, Awards Tributes – Specials category. The awards are being given Feb. 13 at ceremonies in Los Angeles and New York.

Special material for the Tony broadcast was written by Adam Goldman and Carol Leife.

Boone won a Writers Guild Award in 2012 for the 66th Annual Tony Awards – with special material by Paul Greenberg – in the same category.

Charlotte St. Martin, president of The Broadway League, and Heather Hitchens, president of the American Theater Wing, issued an earlier statement saying, "Dave and his team work around the clock to create a dynamic and compelling script for both the show’s host and the diverse group of presenters. We are extremely proud of him and the entire production team and are honored by this nomination."

The American Theatre Wing's 70th Annual Tony Awards will be broadcast live on CBS June 12 at 8 PM ET from the Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Nominations will be announced on May 3.
