With a Song in My Fists, a parody of the musical movie romps of the 1930s, will make its world premiere June 20–29 at The Studio Theatre at Theatre Row.

Directed and choreographed by Melissa Firlit, the cast includes Dennis Elkins, Michelle Girolami, Bear Manescalchi, Megan McDermott, Melissa Melendez, Jamie Soltis, and Claudio Venancio. The seven actors play 25 roles.

The new musical features music and lyrics by Matthew Maimone and Thom Brown III and a book by Todd Michael.

In With a Song in My Fists, prizefighting boxer turned Broadway composer makes good on a promise to his dying mother. Punching his way to success at the keyboard, Kid McGonagle takes a jab at Broadway fame, with an uppercut to the heart when he meets his match in the New York debutante Polly Prescott.
