Warner Shook directs the work, which begins Jan. 29 and opens Feb. 6 for a run at the California venue through March 20. The Goat concerns a happily married architect suffering from a mid-life crisis who holds a secret that could do him considerable harm if revealed. The controversial family drama explores societal limits. The work — from the author of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, A Delicate Balance and Three Tall Women — earned the writer a 2002 Tony Award for Best Play.

The design team includes Michael Olich (set), Mary Louise Geiger (lighting), Frances Kenny (costumes) and Jon Gottlieb (sound).

Eckhouse — known to television audiences as head of the Walsh family in the 1980's series "Beverly Hills, 90210" — has performed on Broadway in Beyond Therapy. Among his stage credits are roles at The Public Theater, Manhattan Theatre Club and the Williamstown Theatre Festival. The actor has also appeared on such TV shows as "Once and Again," "The West Wing," "Without a Trace" and "Jack & Bobby."

Kerwin and Mace starred in the west coast premiere of The Goat at Seattle's ACT Theatre in August 2003, which was also staged directed by Shook. The original Broadway cast featured Bill Pullman and Mercedes Ruehl. The second cast was led by Sally Field, in her Broadway debut, opposite Bill Irwin.

The School for Scandal currently plays at the Center Theatre Group's Mark Taper space through Jan. 23. The season continues with Luis Alfaro's Electricidad (March 27-May 15), a new play TBA (June 5-July 24) and August Wilson's final decade play Radio Golf (July 31-Sept. 18).

Tickets to The Goat at the Taper, 135 North Grand Ave. in Los Angeles, CA can be purchased by calling (213) 628-2772 or on-line at www.TaperAhmanson.com.
