Connecticut high school student Hannah DeFlumeri recently tackled the mother of all stage roles, Mama Rose in the classic showbiz musical Gypsy. It sounds like a daunting task for a high school student, but hey, there have been high school productions of Follies, so why not?

Thankfully, "this people's got it" and DeFlumeri channels all of Rose's fire and has the pipes to back it up. Theatre fans might notice an homage to Tony Award winner Patti LuPone (a recent Broadway Rose) on a few phrases, but this talented newcomer makes for a compelling watch.

"Here she is boys… here she is world…"
