As Arielle Jacobs sips her tea and looks out at Manhattan from her Long Island City terrace, the Aladdin star gets the sense that she is living a fairy tale of her own.
“To be back on Broadway in a show that I love, I just feel so blessed," says Jacobs. "I feel so lucky to be able to bring this character to life... I feel like everything is unfolding in a way that I couldn't have expected.”
Jacobs takes us through a typical Friday—from her morning workout with her fiancé and teaching voice lessons, to how she prepares for her Broadway performance. Take a look through the gallery to see what it’s like to be a part of a major Disney musical.

The day begins with a morning workout with her fiancé J.J. Caruncho, who developed his own training regime called the Sanctuary Method. The method combines practices from weightlifting, yoga, gymnastics, martial arts, and more in order to train the whole body.

"I think becoming more free physically and raising your heart rate makes you a better actor," Jacobs explains. "It makes you more responsive. It makes you aware of your feelings more. It makes you more open, emotionally."

“I want to be a strong princess. I want to feel like I’m capable. I think the stronger you feel, the straighter you can stand, the taller you feel, and the more regal you feel.”

For Jacobs, who is newly engaged, time with her fiancé is important. "[Breakfast] gives us time together. We like to have time to hang out, reconnect, talk about life, and enjoy each other’s company."

"I feel like I’m walking on clouds!" says Jacobs as she reflects on her engagement. "People say when you get engaged and get married, nothing changes. But I don’t feel like that. I feel more connected, knowing that we have committed to each other in this way."

Following breakfast, Jacobs heads to a local coffee shop to work on her blog, The Blog of Wonders, an homage to Aladdin's Cave of Wonders.

Jacobs' blog is a constructive outlet to both process and share her experiences on and offstage. "I started my blog when I was doing Aladdin in Australia. I’ve always loved writing and I like putting my thoughts to paper—it helps me."
