In the exclusive video above, Manhattan Theatre Club gives us a sneak peek at Debra Jo Rupp as Della, the sweet-talking North Carolina baker at the center of Bekah Brunstetter's play The Cake. When her late best friend's daughter asks her to make a cake for her same-sex wedding, Della is forced to re-examine her deeply held beliefs.

The Cake, directed by MTC Artistic Director Lynne Meadow, will begin performances February 12 at New York City Center – Stage I ahead of a March 5 opening.

Rupp is reprising the role she originated at Los Angeles' Echo Theatre and played at Barrington Stage Company and the Geffen Playhouse. Rounding the cast Off-Broadway are Marinda Anderson, Genevieve Angelson, and Dan Daily. Read more here.
