The American Conservatory Theater’s production of Father Comes Home From the Wars (Parts, 1, 2, & 3) is set to open in San Francisco April 25. The drama, written by Pulitzer Prize winner Suzan-Lori Parks and directed by Liz Diamond, will run through May 20 at A.C.T.’s Geary Theater. It is a co-production with Yale Repertory Theatre, where it ran March 16–April 7.

Set amid the civil war, Father Comes Home From the Wars tells the story of Hero, played by James Udom, a slave who must chose between earning his freedom by fighting for the Confederacy or remaining enslaved in order to stay with the woman he loves.
