News A Haunting Ghost Story Will Make World Premiere at Second Stage Theatre Uptown Second Stage Theatre announced Feb. 11 the world premieres of two new plays for its 13th annual uptown series: Emily Schwend's paranormal tale, The Other Thing, and King Liz by Fernanda Coppel.

The Other Thing follows journalist Kim on her assignment to cover a team of ghost hunters in rural Virginia. Taking place outside a haunted barn, Kim waits for the spirits to reveal themselves, only to find that the ghosts are closer than she thinks. To be directed by Lucie Tiberghien, the production is set to begin performances May 12.

Coppel's King Liz will look at sports agent Liz Rico, who is fighting to stay on top in a man's industry. When a new star client is added to her roster, she realizes there will be a price to pay when keeping this volatile player in line. To be directed by Lisa Peterson, performances will begin July 13.

Both plays will be staged at Second Stage Theatre's McGill/Cazale Theatre on Broadway at 76th St.
