PlayBlog A Little Not Music: Blythe and Gwyneth as the Armfeldts? We hate to shoot down a perfectly good rumor like the one that has mother and daughter Blythe Danner and Gwyneth Paltrow respectively taking over for Angela Lansbury and Catherine Zeta-Jones (playing mother and daughter) in Broadway's A Little Night Music this summer, but, alas, the night will not smile down in such a way.

At the April 22 opening of Roundabout Theatre Company's Sondheim on Sondheim, Playbill columnist Harry Haun cornered Danner. Is it true? She shook her head. "Tantalizing, isn't it?" Danner said. "But she [Gwyneth] won't leave London."

It would have been wonderful. Lansbury and Zeta-Jones are currently contracted to June 20.
