The world premiere of Taylor Mac's Gary: A Sequel to Titus Andronicus officially opened at the Booth Theatre on Broadway April 21, after beginning performances March 11. The new comedy from the Pulitzer Prize finalist and MacArthur Fellow takes place just after the conclusion of William Shakespeare’s first tragedy—years of bloody battles are over, the civil war has ended, and the country has been stolen by madmen.

Tony Award winner George C. Wolfe directs a cast made up of Tony winner Nathan Lane as Gary, Tony nominee Kristine Nielsen as Janice, and Tony winner Julie White as Carol.

In Gary, which is produced by Scott Rudin, the Roman Empire has fallen and there are casualties everywhere—(among them a midwife on the verge of death), and two very lowly servants are charged with cleaning up the bodies.
